BASS – Jason graduated from Goddard College with a degree in Music and Health Arts and Science. While at Goddard, he wrote an extensive manual for musician’s health that combined his love of music with his passion for health and wellness. The manual outlined a daily practice for musicians to foster their creativity through nutrition, healing arts, herbalism, and physical therapy. He spent a year studying guitar making with several expert luthiers and now currently performs with Casio Bastard & The Dirty Watts.
GUITAR – Silas’ musical journey began in the mid ninety’s with the founding of his first band, Chandelier Fred. Led by Tanner and song writing collaborator Tim Gregg (and the oft-unsung, no pun intended, collaborator/lyricist Joshua Meyer) the band blended blistering metal guitar work with Claypool-inspired bass mashing, prog-rock drumming with Tanner’s soulful singing, and classic rock style rhythm and lead guitars. Casio Bastard represents a departure of sorts for Silas as he has mostly only instrumental responsibilities in the group, a role he relishes as he has plenty of energy to focus on his instrument. The Bastards are an unwieldy weapon at times, and Silas loves to hang on for dear life, or sometimes even lead the charge.
DRUMMER - Jonathan grew up and lives in Montpelier, VT. : He works as a water quality / civil engineer. A lover of nature; When Jon isn’t working or behind the drums, he is likely to be outside enjoying independent sports like hiking, telemark skiing, wakeboarding or mountain biking.
HAND DRUMS, PERCUSSION - Kevin’s drumming began in the early 90s in Kalamazoo, MI at a full moon drumming circle. Starting with a simple frame drum, bigger drums were soon to follow: Ahiko, Djembe, Congas. Since that first drum circle, you would only have heard Kevin drumming in and around Kalamazoo, Malibu beach, the canyons of Sedona, and the hills of Phoenix, AZ. More recently and locally, Kevin has played as a guest artist with Shutesville Hill in Stowe and Morrisville, VT.
Early in 2010 Kevin was invited to jam with Casio Bastard by guitarist Silas Tanner (with whom Kevin worked) and joined the band shortly thereafter.
KEYBOARD/VOCALS – Justin is a graduate of Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. He has shared the stage with other well known performers including Michael Ray (Michael Ray Cosmic Krewe), Lester Bowie, Cooper Moore, and Don Glasgo. While attending Goddard, Justin performed with a number of talented students in the music program (Travis Shores, Ian Alexi, Steve Sharon, Scott Tourney and tons more.
